Imagine that, I got behind on weekly posts again! :) I'm combining weeks 37 & 38 to make sure I cover everything for my sweet Quinny's scrapbook!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 37 - 38 weeks (considered full term at 37!!)
Size of baby: a little over 19 inches & 6ish pounds!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: over 30 lbs... :) At my 38 week appointment I had lost 5 pounds unexpectedly, but the doctor seemed OK with this.
Maternity Clothes: still a mixture for pants, but 99% maternity tops except CJ's shirts. I feel like I have maybe 3 outfits that I can still comfortably fit into.
Gender: sweet baby GIRL - Quinn Elizabeth :)
Movement: if I'm awake I'm pretty sure she's moving....she does move around quite a bit at night, too but I can usually sleep through that.
Sleep: I'm not sure I remember what good sleep is now. I'm up every 45 minutes - hour now that she's dropped some with bathroom breaks.
Symptoms: I've been having some contractions, but the worst thing I've been experiencing is itching. I itch ALL over. I think it might bring me to my breaking point soon!
What I miss: I can't really tie my shoes anymore...I miss that a lot! :)
Cravings: milk and LOTS and LOTS of it!!
Best Moment this week: We spent the entire day Saturday hardcore cleaning the house. I am SO relieved to have it all done. It was the annoying type of cleaning - drawers, cabinets, installing shelves (Thanks babe!), dusting everything, etc.
What I am looking forward to: I am SO ready for her to be here. I'm incredibly nervous, but know I can't be anymore ready tomorrow than I am today.
We are definitely nearing the end of everything and cannot wait for all these preparations to pay off in the form of sweet Quinny being here! :) Most everyone in our families are sharing the excitement and I'm definitely getting random text messages and phone calls telling me to hurry it up!
At my 37 week appointment I had progressed some - 2 CM & 65% effaced. That didn't really mean much to me other than being told she most likely wouldn't come this week. It was not what I wanted to hear at that point.
After a day full of work, my 38 week appointment was quite a surprise! After a night full of contractions, but none closer than 12 minutes apart I was fully prepared to be told I was having a baby that day despite the fact that it was leap day. Everyone had a running joke (except ME!) that Quinn would make an appearance on the 29th. I did not want a leap day baby!! When Dr. H was checking me I knew I was about to get either really good or really bad news based off the look on her face. She asked me what I was the week before and after I told her she got a big smile on her face. She informed me I was now dilated to a 4 CM and was 90% effaced. She asked CJ and I if we were ready for a baby because if she had to bet she would bet that Quinn would be here in the next 48 hours! We couldn't wipe the smiles off our faces. She asked if I wanted to go downstairs and be monitored or if I wanted to go home and have a good last meal. I chose the latter of course. I knew the exact meal that I wanted and couldn't wait to get it! :)

Nursery Tour!
In the beginning I had it stuck in my head that I wanted to do all gender neutral in the nursery so everything could be used again in the future. I had a bedding set picked out and was waiting to order because of it's price ($300...RIDICULOUS!). I was randomly searching one afternoon and came across Amy Butler fabrics and completely changed my mind on everything I had planned! I took this fabric (Love Paradise Garden Wine and Love Sunspots Wine) and picked everything out from there...
CJ pretty much agreed to let me do whatever I wanted, because he knows how much I love to decorate. The only catch was he got to pick the paint color. I wanted a light turquoise, but he wanted green. I gave in! :) The color is actually a little brighter on the walls which I don't mind.

The crib is the first thing you see when you walk into the room. The bed skirt, blanket, and pillows were all made by my amazing aunt. We have several sheet colors to choose from, but I started with the lilac. My aunt also got that for us from Babies R Us. I looked everywhere in the area for that color, but came up empty-handed. Luckily, Camille found the last one when she was shopping one afternoon! :) The mobile came from Target (source) and plays music. It matches the room perfectly with the cute little flowers and owl.
Directly above the crib are three painting that amazing friends made for sweet Quinny. The two owls were made by Kristen Reasoner (go to her ETSY SHOP shop and buy something from her! She can also make custom pieces like she did for me!). The name canvas was made by my awesome friend Ali. I seriously gave her paint colors and said "GO!" :) Isn't she amazing?!
The curtains are from JCPenny and match the purple in her bedding. I didn't want to use too much red or pink since there's so much in the fabric so I chose my favorite color. I don't have the link to the curtains currently, but I'll try to find that later. (picture to come!)
We put the papasan in the corner so there was some sort of seating in the room. I have a rocker, but I'm keeping that in the living room for now since that is the main place I'll be going at night while she's staying in our room in her pack-n-play (Thanks Nana!!!). The two bears are ones that I've had for a very long time. The grey bear was my most prized possession until I was seriously almost 21 (I know, ridiculous). I hope Quinn loves it as much as I do. I'm going to try to convince her Daddy that she needs a bear from him so I'm sure there will be another one in the chair soon. There are two blankets I have thrown over the back. The multi-colored knitted one was given to me by my Nana so it's incredibly special to me. The purple and multi-colored tied blanket was made by my awesome Aunt Karla and cousin Mallori. I LOVE this type of blanket and will most likely use it daily to lay Quinn on.
The antique window with Quinn stenciled in was made by another awesome co-worker Brenda. I'm pretty sure we have the EXACT same decorating taste. If only I could hire her to come re-do my house! :) CJ is planning on hanging this diagonally in the corner above the papasan chair. It's going to look SO good once it's finally up.
The dresser is pretty full with random things from showers right now. I tried to hang most of her clothes so we would have room in the dresser for pants and miscellaneous things since it's so small. Eventually, we are going to re-do CJ's old (and big!) dresser and put it in here. That will be quite the undertaking so I'm sure it'll be at least a year before that's done. I got the green lamp from TJ Maxx. The owl piggy bank is from Hobby Lobby, and the two diaper cakes are from different showers. Those will soon be put away and replaced with some sort of decor. This will most likely be her framed birth announcement made into a subway art piece by her awesome Daddy. The shelves above the dresser are from Kohl's and have random frames, etc. on them for now. I'm sure this will constantly be changed out, but everything that's up will do for now!
And now to her closet....it's crazy RIDICULOUS. I'm 99% positive the girl has more clothes than CJ and I combined. I'm most excited about a few monogrammed outfits and her TOMs. :) We have a ton of diapers stored in the top and will eventually put some sort of toy storage in the bottom when she's old enough to have more toys than we know what to do with (I'm sure we can thank the grandparents for that eventually!).
Her changing table has a lilac cover with butterflies to match her sheet that Camille got her. The pictures above it were taken by Brenda when she was on her European adventure several years ago. The castle is in Germany and it's what Walt Disney based his castle off of in his theme parks. And obviously the Eiffel Tower is the Eiffel Tower. Her initials came from a wreath made by my aunt Camille. Under the changing table are a few bins - the chevron ones and cream & green one are from Target and the green one was a gift from my Mom's best friend and daughter.
TJ Maxx for only $20!! I was SO excited when I found it, because the colors match her bedding perfectly.
And to go ahead and officially make this the longest post ever I'll include a few pics from her bathroom. I'm using turquoise and pink. The turquoise framed chalk board was made by Aunti Ali. :) The frame is from CJ's Aunt Kim. There will eventually be pink towels hanging from the towel bar. There are turquoise mats from Target and the chevron basket is also from Target. The pink basket full of wash cloths and towels is from Bed Bath and Beyond. I got it while in college and pulled it out of a closet to use since it matched the colors of the bathroom. CJ's Mom got us a pink tub at a shower and we have tons of shampoos, body washes, and lotions stashed around in drawers and the closet.
And I'll end with my three favorite outfits and the pack-n-play that's in our room for my Nana to see! I'm posting shower details soon with another picture overload post!

The past few weeks...34-36 weeks!
Since I've missed so many weeks I'm going to steal the format of my bff and just summarize the past few weeks. :) We're in countdown mode!!!!
* Size of baby Quinny: Our sweet girl is getting pretty close to 6 pounds and is around 18 inches long. She's most likely going to be a long baby and can thank her parents for the guaranteed long legs and arms. :)
* Size of mommy: I'm feeling quite large lately. I've gained more weight in the past 3 weeks than I had planned, but I'll be OK with that as long as I'm able to lose most of it after she's here. I plan on picking a race about 4 months after she's born. If I have a goal I'm more likely to actually stick to a plan.
* How I'm feeling: It completely depends on the day. One day I'll feel amazing and have a huge burst of energy and the next I'm struggling to stay awake past 2 PM. I know this is completely normal. I'm trying to enjoy the sleep I'm able to get as much as possible, because I'll soon be getting pretty much none. :) The three things that are really getting to me lately are my back pain, rib pain, and having to go to the bathroom every .5 seconds. If only I could teach myself to slow down and I'm sure the back pain wouldn't be as bad! Nothing like carrying around a 6 pound baby in your belly! Another random thing that has hit in full force is pregnancy brain....if I don't write it down, don't expect me to remember! I set at least 3 alarms on my phone daily for bills, laundry, etc.
* Cravings: Other than my normal attitude of milk, milk, milk (at least I'm drinking skim) for everything I haven't really had that many cravings lately. Certain things will sound good, but I don't necessarily have to have it right then. Most of the time I forget about it and just eat whatever I had planned on cooking. However, this weekend CJ and I will be splitting an Oreo molten cake from Chili's. :)
* House preparations: Much to CJ's disappointment, nesting mode is in full force!! The nursery is all but finished (pictures to come as soon as the bedding is here). Uncle Kevy was here last weekend to take care of random things that Quinn will REALLY care about once she's here...like touch up painting of my entryway and changing a door knob. :) A few shelves are going up this weekend and we're making room for bottles in the kitchen. After that and a bit of organizing, we will be in hang-out mode until sweet baby girl decides to make an appearance.
*News: I've started my weekly appointments now and I'm happy to say that I am progressing! I definitely needed a light at the end of the tunnel type of day on Wednesday and thankfully that's exactly what I got! I am 1 CM dilated and 60% effaced. Quinny is head down and her heart beat was nice and strong. Another AMAZING thing we found out is that my iron levels are incredibly high. If you know me at all you know this is NOT normal at all. I am SO thankful that my body decided to like iron while I'm pregnant. Low blood counts and labor just don't sound very fun at all.
Other than weekly appointments, there isn't much news to report. CJ and I took all of our birthing classes and I have a breast feeding one left with the bff Monday. We learned quite a few things and the classes calmed my crazy nerves quite a bit.
And that's about it for the past 3ish weeks :) I'll be posting soon about the two showers we've had so far and the one we're having tomorrow. Eventually I'll have a post that is picture overload...until then here's a pic of a pillow that's going in the nursery.
